
Ingredients :
- 16 oz Flour
- 8 oz Sugar
- 8 oz Butter
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 10 large eating apples
- 1 tablespoon Golden Syrup
- Dash water
- 2 oz sugar for apples
Method :
- Add all the dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl. 16 oz Flour (Sieved); 8 oz Sugar; 8 oz Butter
- Mix the butter with the other ingredients until crumbled and there aren"t any large lumps of butter.
- Add the nutmeg and cinnamon to the crumble and mix one last time.
- Mine while peel and chop the apples into large chunks roughly 1" square. Add to a pan and simmer over a medium heat with the water, sugar and golden syrup. Cook until soft golden.
- Put the apples into the bottom of your crumble dish along with the syrup and then add the crumble on top and put into the oven for 30mins at 180 degrees Celsius.
- When serving I always use hot custard but some people prefer cream or ice cream.
