Ingredients :
- 8 Jonathan apples
- 5 C. water
- 2 1/2 C. sugar
- 1 C. red hots
Method :
- Bring to boil: sugar, water and red hots. Peel and core the apples and drop them in the boiling liquid.
- Cook until tender turning as they cook.
- Remove apples from liquid with a slotted spoon. Place apples in a glass baking dish and place in pre heated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes spooning the rest of the liquid over the apples while they bake.
- Take out and chill in fridge. Serve with cool whip on top.
