Ingredients :
- 1 pints vanilla ice cream
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup hot expresso or strong coffee
Method :
- Let the ice cream soften slightly.
- Work in the cinnamon, chili powder, and cayenne.
- Freeze until solid, about 1 hour.
- To serve:
- Beat the cream to soft peaks.
- Divide the ice cream among bowls.
- Pour the expresso or strong coffee over the ice cream.
- Top with the whipped cream.
- Serve immediately.
- *For a warm-weather treat, float the spicy ice cream in iced coffee, cream soda, or a mixture of the two, or use a creamy Irish stout (chocolate stout or oatmeal stout if you can find it.)
- **You can garnish with crushed pretzels or caramel popcorn if desired.**
