Recipe Shortening biscuits

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup milk

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. Mix dry ingredients together
  3. Cut in shortening using a fork until mixture resembles a coarse meal
  4. Slowly stir in milk until dough pulls from bowl sides
  5. Put on floured cutting board and knead 15-20 times
  6. Roll out dough to 1 inch thick
  7. Cut biscuits with a large cutter or my method, a wide mouth glass dipped in flour... repeat step 6 until all dough is used
  8. Put cut biscuits on ungreased baking sheet.
  9. Bake 13-15 min until bottoms are golden brown
  10. Put desired goodies on them and then stuff your mouth hole
