Ingredients :
- 8 pieces center cut bacon, crispy and crumbled
- 3 (15 oz) cans Great Northern beans, drained and rinsed
- 4 medium carrots, diced
- 4 stalks celery, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tbsp parsley
- 1/2 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- to taste Salt and pepper
Method :
- Place all ingredients except the salt-and-pepper in the slow cooker and stir to combine. Cook for eight hours on low heat.
- When soup is almost done cooking, blend most of it to your desired consistency using an emulsifier or immersion blender. If not, put two thirds of the soup into a blender and blend it.
- Add salt-and-pepper to taste.
- 194 calories per cup!
