Ingredients :
- 6-8 apples (various kinds for the best flavor). Peel, core, and chopped.
- 2 tbsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2-3 tbsp butter (not margarine)
Method :
- Peel, core, and chop your apples.
- Combine all ingredients except the butter in a bowl and toss.
- Let sit in your fridge for at least 20-to an hour.
- Prepare bottom pie crust. Add filling to crust in pie pan.
- Randomly add butter on top of the filling. This will help reduce or stop boil over while baking.
- Place top crust or prepare streusseltopping and sprinkle over apple mixture. If using a shell, cut decorative slits to allow steam to escape
- Place in a pre-heated oven (425 fahrenheit) and bake 35-45 minutes.
