Ingredients :
- 450 grams gluten-free / plain flour - see my flour mix below
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp xanthan gum if using gluten-free flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp low-sodium salt
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 pinch chilli powder
- 360 ml sparkling (carbonated) water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
Method :
- Preheat the oven to gas 7 / 210C / 425°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper
- Mix the flour, baking powder, xanthan gum if using, salt, herbs and spices together well in a bowl
- Make a well in the middle and pour in the oil and syrup
- The dough should be like a thick cake batter so mix in the water until it reaches that stage. You may not need it all
- Spoon the mixture into a piping bag
- Snip a 1cm wide end and pipe wiggly lines, spaced evenly apart along each baking sheet, then bake for 18 - 22 minutes or until done
- Enjoy with some of my themed soup for a nutritious Halloween meal!
