Recipe Red cabbage onion and walnut tart

Ingredients :

  • 230 g puff pastry
  • 3/4 head red cabbage
  • 2 red onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • handful walnuts or pecans
  • 30 g butter
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • creme fraiche or sour cream to top
  • chopped parsley for topping

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Melt butter over medium heat then fry onions for 4 minutes
  3. Add the red cabbage and continue fryi g for 5 minutes adding the seasoning
  4. Add balsamic vinegar and cook for 2 min then set aside
  5. Line a pie pan with puff pastry. Add cabbage and top with walnuts
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 min until pastry is golden brown
  7. Top with sour cream and parsley
