
Ingredients :
- 3 Cups heaping flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbs. salt
- 1 big handful crisco (shortening)
- 1 Cup water or more, not to much but just enough to make the mixture into a dough if you use touch it will stick to the pan your cooking with
Method :
- Heat a skillet or pan on medium high the whole time you are making the mixture
- Get a large bowl
- Get out flour, baking powder, salt, Crisco or shortening, and boiling water
- In the large bowl mix flour, baking powder, and salt with your hand and then add the Crisco make sure there are no clumps in the mixture and mix very well
- Add boiling water to the mixture and mix with your hand this will be very hot so be careful you can use a spoon but I"m more hands on and your hand can mix better
- Nead the dough but not to much if you mix to much the end result of your tortillas will be hard and crackerish
- After the dough is neaded pull small balls out of the big dough ball until there is only small balls should make up to 12 balls
- After you have made the small dough balls roll each individual ball out with a rolling pin
- After you are done rolling the dough out set one tortilla in the skillet or pan at a time
- After you have put it in the skillet cook it for about 3 minutes on each side, to flip you could use a spatula
- Make sure they"re cooked fully all the way through
