Recipe Ginger cake

Resep Ginger cake

Ingredients :

  • 45 g butter
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 cup cream, whipped icing sugar optional

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 180 Celsius. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in the golden syrup.
  2. Sift flour and ginger together. Fold into creamed mixture alternately with combined milk and soda.
  3. Pour mixture into a greased 20 cm round cake tin. Bake for 40 minutes; turn onto a wire rack and cool.
  4. Spilt cake. Spread one half with cream. Top with remaining cake layer and dust with icing sugar.
  5. Hint : curdling of the cake batter will generally not spoil the finished result.
