Ingredients :
- 1 packet firm tofu
- 1 cup chopped onions , long sliced
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped peppers( optional)
- 4 cloves garlic chopped
- 3 green chilles chopped
- 3 tbsp spring onions chopped
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp tomato paste or ketchup
- salt
- olive oil
Method :
- Cut tofu into small cubes and coat with red chilli powder, salt, cornflour and marinate for 30 mins
- Shallow fry tofu pieces on pan with oil till coated brown. Remove from pan and place on absorbent paper
- In the same pan, add lil oil and fry onion for 5 mins. Add peppers, celery, green chilles, garlic, green onions and fry for few mins
- Add ketchup or tomato paste and fry for a min
- Add tofu to the pan and add vinegar, soya sauce, salt and mix well and cook for 3 to 5 mins.
- Let it thicken up a bit
- Serve hot
- If you need gravy... add a cup of water with 1 tbsp of corn flour in it and add to the pan and simmer till thickens
