Recipe Wholesome White Soda Bread

Resep Wholesome White Soda Bread

Ingredients :

  • 300 g White Flour (plain or strong)
  • 200 g Brown Flour (plain or strong)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 2 tsp white sugar
  • 250 ml milk
  • Olive Oil
  • 150 ml low-fat or 0% fat nautral yogurt

Method :
  1. Add the flours, soda, salt and sugar all in a bowl and mix a little.
  2. In a jug add the milk, yogurt and a splash of oil olive and whisk until milk and yogurt are combined.
  3. Slowly pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Work the mix with your hands to make a dough. Add plain flour if dough is too wet or milk if dough is too dry.
  5. Knead until dough is fairly smooth and roll into a 3-4 inch thick ball/disc. Be careful not to over knead.
  6. Transfer onto a floured baking tray and cut into quarters.
  7. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 C fan for 40 minutes or until a light brown.
  8. Let it cool for 5 minutes and then slice and eat! Or if keeping for later wrap in a tea towel to keep the moisture in.
  9. I had it with my home-made blackcurrant jam (recipe is available on my page) with butter.
