Recipe sagoo khichdi

Resep sagoo khichdi

Ingredients :

  • 250 gms of sagoo
  • 150 gms of Bengal gram dal.
  • 100 gms each of carrots, French beans,potatoes, tomatoes
  • 1 cup peeled green peas
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • leaves freshly chopped coriandar
  • oil for sauting
  • salt and sugar as required

Method :
  1. Soak the sagoo in warm water for an hour.
  2. Cut all the vegetables in cubical pieces
  3. Wash the bengal gram dal and fry it on a low flame with salt and turmeric and the vegetables.
  4. Add with it peas and chillies (chopped )and keep frying.
  5. As the vegetables become tender add water and bring to boil on a medium flame.Gradually add the sagoo and stir.
  6. When the mixture thickens add sugar as per taste.
  7. Remove from flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
