Ingredients :
- 2 1/2-3 cups shredded muenster or colby jack cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter plus more for greasing pans
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
Method :
- In a skillet, add the butter and melt over medium-low heat. Add onions and saute until onion are translucent and soft. Removefrom heat.
- Butter a quiche pan or pie dish. Put 1 cup of shredded cheese in the bottom of buttered pan.
- Add cooked onions in an even layer over cheese.
- Crack eggs and pour into a mixing bowl. Add the cream and spices and whisk togethet until well mixed and frothy.
- Pour mixture over cheese and onions, then use fork to gently distribute cheese and onions into egg and cream mixture.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until set and puffy and slightly golden in the center.
