Ingredients :
- 2 1/2 cup AP flour
- 2 stick of margarine or butter cubed
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- tablespoons of ice cold water
Method :
- Whisk, sift, or just mix well together using a fork all of your dry ingredients until well blended in a mixing bowl.
- Add cubed margarine or butter to dry ingredients and just mash it together. The dough will be sort of crumbly and not completed just yet. Keep going on for a few minutes until you you can see that all of the flour is mashed into the butter.
- Begin adding the ice cold water 4 tablespoons at a time and still using the fork mix it all together. Keep adding the water until desire dough-like consistency is achieved. (At this point I just started using my hands mashing it all together.)
- Separate dough into 2 or three balls and knead in hand by flattening it out and folding it half many times. Flatten into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap and place in fridge for about 30 minutes to an hour.
- *From what I have read the dough can be made in advance days before use but I advise to not have it in the fridge no more than 3 days. I have also heard that it can be frozen for up to 3 months.
- Enjoy and happy cooking.
