Ingredients :
- FOR THE CAKE
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups ground sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup butter
- 5 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup yoghurt
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- FOR THE ICING
- 1 cup ground sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 6 tbsp cold milk
- Chopped almonds
Method :
- Sift and combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon and baking soda. Set aside
- In a sauce pan heat water, oil, butter and cocoa powder. Bring to a boil
- Add yoghurt and vanilla essence and mix well.
- Bake at 180°C for 20-30 mins. The toothpick test works well for this :)
- For the icing, in a saucepan, combine butter and cocoa. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from the heat and add sugar and then cold milk and stir.
- Pour over the hot cake and sprinkle with chopped almonds
