Recipe Gulkand and Dry Fruit Ladoo

Resep Gulkand and Dry Fruit Ladoo

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups fresh cottage cheese (chenna)
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 Tbsp thick cream (can also use fresh Malai)
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 1-2 tsp sugar (optional, if you need the ladoos a little sweeter)

  • For the Stuffing:
  • 1/3 cup assorted dry fruits, chopped finely (I used Cashew, Pistachios, Almond, Walnut)
  • 1/2 Tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp melon seeds roughly chopped
  • 2 Tbsp good quality gulkand
  • Silver leaf and saffron soaked milk for garnishing

Method :
  1. In a pan toast all the dry fruits, poppy seeds on low heat till it becomes aromatic. Take off the heat.Once it is cool mix in gulkand and keep aside.
  2. Add chenna, condensed milk, cream, cornflour and sugar (If using) in to a blender and blend to a smooth paste.
  3. Shift the mixture to a thick bottom pan. On low medium heat stir the mixture till it becomes a thick paste. (Don"t over cook else it will become dry and difficult to shape. And also once the mixture cools down it become more thick)
  4. Let the heat come down. When it is still little warm and you can handle the heat with bare hands, scoop out 1 heaped Tbsp of chenna mixture. Make it to a smooth ball.
  5. Garnish with edible silver leaf and saffron milk.
