Ingredients :
- Dough
- 5 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup White sugar
- 2 3/4 tsp Instant dry yeast
- 3/4 cup Salted Margarine (if using unsalted, add 3/4tsp of salt)
- 1 cup Fresh milk (room-temperature)
- 2 large Eggs (room-temperature)
- 1 Olive oil
- Filling
- 1/2 cup Margarine (shredded)
- 3/4 cup Cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 10 Or more Bacon strips
Method :
- Put together flour, sugar and yeast. Rake in using a fork or whisk to make sure all are combined well.
- Soften margarine and add it into the dry mixture.
- Pour in the milk then add the eggs one at a time.
- Mix everything. Better if you have an electric stand mixer with a dough attachment.
- After a few minutes of mixing, the dough should come together and somewhat on the center.
- If the dough is still sticky, add more flour.
- Grease 2 bowls with olive oil. Divide the dough into two and put each one into the bowls and cover with a cling wrap.
- Place the bowls in a warm area and wait for about an hour or so until the doughs have doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- You may use both doughs or just one. Knead the dough or press it with your hands until it"s flat and about or larger than the size of a short bond paper. If your using both doughs, do the same with the filling.
- Scatter the margarine, followed by the cheese.
- Place the bacon strips horizontally until the dough is filled.
- From the bottom, roll the dough upwards. Put some water on the upper edges of the dough just so the roll can be sealed.
- Cut the roll into halves and repeat until you have about 8 pieces.
- Place the pieces in a cookie sheet lined with wax paper, with the sides facing up.
- Bake for about 20 minutes. Once baked, cool for 5-10 minutes then serve and enjoy!
