Ingredients :
- 5 yams
- 3 carrots
- salt
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (optional)
Method :
- Peel yams and carrots
- Put in a pot and cover with water (notice the kitchen covered for pesach :))
- Bring water to a boil and reduce to simmer. Cook until soft, check with a fork. (Thats our pesach oven)
- Transfer to a bowl to mash (dont use a blender bec you do want some texture for the tzimmes, dont want it to be soup)
- Add some liquid to help mash, i added in freshly squeezed orange juice
- And wala!! Its tzimmes!! Yum!!
