Ingredients :
- 1 butter to grease baking dish
- 3/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons flour, divided
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 lb frozen sweet cherries, thawed
Method :
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Butter a 2 quart baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, and salt.
- Using a pastry blender, work butter into flour mixture until it is the texture of coarse meal.
- Add oats and mix until large clumps form.
- In a large bowl, toss cherries with the chocolate chips, sugar, and remaining 3 tablespoons flour.
- Place mixture in the 2 quart baking dish and sprinkle with the topping.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.
- Let cool 10 minutes before serving.
- *I tend to squash the cherries some to make sure there are no pits accidentally remaining inside of them.*
