Recipe Cherry Chocolate Crisp

Ingredients :

  • 1 butter to grease baking dish
  • 3/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons flour, divided
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 lb frozen sweet cherries, thawed

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Butter a 2 quart baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, and salt.
  4. Using a pastry blender, work butter into flour mixture until it is the texture of coarse meal.
  5. Add oats and mix until large clumps form.
  6. In a large bowl, toss cherries with the chocolate chips, sugar, and remaining 3 tablespoons flour.
  7. Place mixture in the 2 quart baking dish and sprinkle with the topping.
  8. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.
  9. Let cool 10 minutes before serving.
  10. *I tend to squash the cherries some to make sure there are no pits accidentally remaining inside of them.*
