Ingredients :
- Seasoning
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp basil
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Ingredients
- 2 small onions, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 12-ounce can of chopped tomatoes, drained
- 1 8-ounce can of tomato sauce
- 1 6-ounce can of tomato paste
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 lb cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/2 lb lasagna noodles
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 packages of provolone cheese, sliced
Method :
- In a large saute pan over medium heat, cook the garlic and onions in the olive oil until the onions are translucent.
- Add the ground beef cook stirring until there is no more pink.
- Add the drained can of diced tomatoes, sugar, salt, basil, oregano, and black pepper. Mix well and let simmer for 1 hour covered.
- While the ground beef mixture singers, prepare the lasagna noodles according to package directions. Place in a colander and rinse well with water. Drain and set aside.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, and the water. Continue to simmer another 30 minutes and the set aside to cool.
- Preheat the oven for 350°F.
- Grease a 9x13 baking dish with olive oil. In the bottom of the dish, thinly spread some of the meat sauce and then a layer of noodle.
- On the noodles, spread a thin layer of the cottage cheese and then a layer of provolone. Repeat the layers until the meat sauce is gone.
- Sprinkle the top with mozzarella and parmesan and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Let rest for 15 minutes and serve.
