Recipe Penne with sausage and broccoli rabe

Ingredients :

  • 1 lb broccoli rabe trimmed to 1 inch pieces
  • 12 oz penne
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 oz sweet Italian sausage cut into 1/2 in slices
  • 2 shallots finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup parmesian

Method :
  1. Cook broccoli rabe in boiling water until just tender, 4 to 5 min
  2. Rinse rabe with cold water and set aside
  3. Cook pasta until aldente
  4. Cook sausage in a skillet
  5. Add shallots and garlic to pan cook until tender
  6. Take 1 1/2 cups of pasta water and add to skillet heat to boiling
  7. Drain pasta and add to the skillet. Stir in rabe, parmesan and salt and pepper. Serve
