Ingredients :
- 2 cup flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
Method :
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut shortening into dry mixture until mixture resembles a coarse meal.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg with milk.
- Pour into flour mixture and stir until all ingredients are thoroughly moistened.
- Drop about 1/3 cup of dough into mounds on a lightly greased baking sheet.
- Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- *My Grandma served this with fresh strawberries and cream, but you can use other berries as well.*
