Ingredients :
- 500 g Puffed Rice
- 1 Large Onion
- 1 Medium Tomato
- 5-8 Green chilli
- 5-6 leaves Curry leaves
- 1/2 cup chopped Coriander
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- Pinch Asafoetida
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/4 cup peanuts
- Optional:
- Sev for garnishing
- to taste Salt
- 2 tbsp Oil
Method :
- Soak puffed rice in water for 3 mins. Then squeeze out water completely and keep rice aside for another 4-5 mins.
- Add oil in Kadhai. Let it get hot. Then add cumin seeds, green chilli, peanuts and curry leaves. Later add chopped onion and half portion of tomato with asafoetida. Cook them until onion starts getting golden brown.
- Add turmeric powder in it. And immidiately add our rice over it. Mix it well.
- Add salt and remaining tomato.
- Put lid on it and let it get cook for another 4-5 mins.
- Our puffed rice upma is ready to eat Now. Serve it hot with fresh coriander leaves and sev on top of it.
