Recipe Sourdough Bread

Ingredients :

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2/3 + cup of water
  • olive oil

Method :
  1. Combine flour, starter, salt in bowl. Add water little at a time and mix with hands to make a soft dough
  2. Coat working area with olive oil. Then knead dough there for 10-15 min... Smooth and elastic
  3. Place dough in lightly oiled bowl and cover with cling film. Leave to rise in a warm place for 5 hours or until at least doubled in size.
  4. Knead dough until it is smooth, knocking the air out. Roll into a ball and dust with flour.
  5. Put dough in well floured basket and leave rise for 4-8 hours
  6. Put tray half filled with water on bottom oven shelf and preheat the oven to 425F
  7. Tip risen dough onto a lined baking tray. Bake for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 400F and bake for 15-20 min. Cool on cooling rack.
