Ingredients :
- 1 small head of cabbage
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1/4 cup water
- Handful real bacon bits or cooked bacon
Method :
- Remove center core of cabbage and outer leaves discard outter core and leaves.
- Slice cabbage long lengthwise
- Heat frying skillet to medium high heat and add butter, bacon once all heated thru add cabbage and I season now with salt and pepper and little garlic (your preference with seasonings) and top with the water. Heat to a simmer
- Reduce heat to low stir cabbage cover with lid stirring occasionally until cabbage is cooked to desired tenderness approximately 20 minutes
- If avoiding butter just add half cup water or broth etc. whatever you prefer twist it up ...and continue with recipe 😋
- If cooking with real bacon cook first in frying pan use drippings instead of butter and crumble cooked bacon and add with cabbage
